Conclusion

Echocardiographic evaluation of LV geometry provided prognostic information in the development of carotid artery stenosis. Abnormal LV geometry is an independent predictor in detecting the severity of carotid artery stenosis undergoing carotid artery stenting.

5 | CONCLUSION
This study demonstrates that direct planimetry of VCA in TR using
3D color Doppler echocardiography is possible in most patients. In
most patients, measurement of VCA by 3D color Doppler echocardiography is in good agreement with EROA measurement by 2D PISA
for assessment of TR severity. Factors such as presence of atrial fibrillation or presence of a pacemaker lead impede quantification of
TR severity.
The 3D-guided direct planimetry of VCA in TR is reliable for
assessing the severity of the TR and is applicable in clinical practice. It should be considered for quantification of TR severity, especially in patients with borderline severity based on conventional 2D
parameters.
