“We conclude that DTI of the lateral tricuspid annulus is a useful clinical tool that can provide a noninvasive estimate of PVR in patients with CTEPH. In this population, decreasing values of tSm predict progressively higher measurements of PVR. In addition, measurement of tSm can help distinguish patients with markedly elevated pulmonary resistance (PVR > 1000 dyne s/cm5) from those with only moderately elevated pulmonary resistance”
