Physicians performing TEE should be experienced
in transthoracic echocardiography (including
Doppler) and have performed at least 100 TEE examinations
under the supervision of a cardiologist with
extensive experience. A minimum of 50 examinations,
but preferably more than 100 per year, are necessary for
maintaining competence.

Já apostei no fim do uso do transesofágico.
Agora já não sei…
As indicações podem ser muitas, é um bom exame.
Mas só para grandes centros hospitalares com referência de volume para o exame.
A sonda é muito cara! 50 mil ou mais.
E a chance de quebrar é alta.
Uma sonda de endoscopia têm quase a mesma tecnologia e é bem mais barata…
